CLASSES SwingNShag

SwingNShag, LLC teaches Carolina Shag, West Coast Swing, Single, Double and Triple Time East Coast Swing, Hustle Night Club Two and Cha Cha and a variety of social couple pattern dances. We also offer wedding packages.

We teach both lead and follow style and couple pattern style. We have taught hundreds of students a variety of dances since we began teaching 1997. We have taught throughout West Virginia such as the Charleston area, Beckley, Parkersburg, Canaan Valley, and Snowshoe, We have taught in Canaan Valley, Snowshoe, Charleston, Parkersburg and Beckley, West Virginia and in Ohio, North Carolina and South Carolina and have been invited to teach in Virginia, Georgia and Pennsylvania. Over the years many of classes have included dance teachers.

For most classes we require at least eight couples at $7.50 per person (tax included) per night for a minimum of six weeks. We teach groups for offices, country clubs and church groups. We teach more than steps and moves we teach dance. We also emphasize the importance of keeping it fun however we feel techniques and fundamentals are important in any dances.

We teach on a weekly basis at the Charleston Moose for the Charleston Area Shag Society.

Shag Classes - Classes are $7.50 per person per each lesson or $40.00 per person per 6 week class.

Our classes generally consist of the Basic, Beyond Basic, Intermediate I and Intermediate II.
Our basic shag class consists of The 6 Count Basic, Female Underarm Pass, Male Underarm Turn, Open to Closed, Closed to Open and The Starter Step. Other shag classes builds on the basic introducing students to more difficult patterns and Intermediate Steps.

West Coast Swing Classes - Classes are $7.50 per person per each lesson or $40.00 per person per 6 week class.

Our classes generally consist of the Basic, Beyond Basic and more difficult Intermediate patterns.

Other Dance Classes - Classes are $7.50 per person per each lesson or $40.00 per person per 6 week class.

We teach lead and follow East Coast Swing in Single, Double and Triple Time, Hustle, Night Club Two, Cha Cha and a variety of Social Pattern Dances. Country Western style dances may be taught upon request.

Four one hour lessons - minimum three couples. Includes basic instruction in a variety of very nice Social Dances for the Wedding Party and Family. In preparation for that special day. Package Price - $75 per couple

Bring your selected music or we can help you find that special song. Package includes coaching on a routine for your first dance as husband and wife. Lessons are 75 minutes long. Five lesson Package Price - $100.00 or Eight Lesson Package $150.00.

Private lessons allow you to receive personalized instruction tailored to suit your individual needs. They are perfect for the beginner and extremely helpful for the experienced dancer who wants to improve their skills. It may help develop your lead/follow technique, body motion and positioning your footwork, and understanding musicality which leads to better dancing.

Individuals who are members of The Charleston Area Shag Society, Beckley Area Shag Club or Mid Ohio Valley Shaggers or are currently taking group lessons may take advantage of our classes for $35.00 per hour.

Workshops - We have taught workshops throughout WV and in several other states our rates are negotiable.
